Benefits based on multiples of earnings or simple fixed amounts are insured in trust and paid tax-free (subject to the HMRC’s lifetime allowance).

  • Eligibility – this needs to be designed carefully to ensure that the right people are covered when you expect them to be. We recommend that you avoid linking life cover to pension membership, because employees who delay joining your pension will not always be accepted by your Life insurer.
  • Insurability – subject to your eligibility rules, all members will be entitled to a minimum guaranteed benefit level based on the size of your scheme. We help smaller businesses secure significantly higher levels of guaranteed insurability.
  • HMRC Registration to continue to qualify for tax relief it is vital that your scheme’s Trust Deed and Rules are compliant with current legislation. If you are in any doubt about this we can assist you.
  • Profit Sharing – If your business has a permanent local workforce in two or more countries and you buy insurance locally in each country, we can show you how to pool these arrangements to improve your contract terms – and claim back a share of any insurance profits.
